Lesson 5 - Planning and Delivery - 14/03/23

Plans:

• Finish any letters off for banner.

• Paint background of the banner and stick letters on to let dry.

• Set up backgrounds so they can photograph the objects they bring in/ drawings - PHOTOGRAPH them.

• Let them upload the images and do any edits.

• WRITE their reason for choosing the object so that this can be displayed too - decide with pupils wether they want to handwrite or print (re anonymity).

Delivery:

We arrived and chatted to Jenny about the confirmed trip details. She printed and handed out the forms for the pupils to sign in order to come to Napier.

No pupils had remembered to bring their object in (though I'd bought the flower for one). We expressed the importance that they bring it with them next week.

We asked one pupil to choose the letters to use on the banner given some were doubled up last week. Those that needed backgrounds were able to do this today.

We sourced black and white paint, a tray, and begun hand printing onto the previously cut card. They enjoyed the child like nature of this task. Once it was full and hands were washed we set them the task of writing a wee explanation to accompany their final images of why that object reflects nurture to them. They all completed this and uploaded them to their google classroom folders.

We set up the lights and backdrop for the orchid pupil and they took an excellent photograph. Next we sourced an apple and the pupil took their photograph too. The dog was a placeholder for the pupil's real object. The water being poured into a cup that they have in the nurture space is poured by one pupil and photographed by another. All had the option of cropping in an editing software they have at school. All were uploaded to a folder which we will gain access to and print. One pupil had taken the picture at home using their phone which turned out great.

We confirmed paper price and where to buy it with Lindsay and that has been ordered so we can print before they visit uni on the 22nd.
