Lesson 6 - Planning and Delivery - Uni Visit - 22/03/23

Planning:

Trip to Uni - Shoot in studio and print here - we will need coloured top.

Bookings were made for the studio with Mary-Ann on 13/03/23 for D24 and two printers in D20.

Paper for printing - ask Dave.

Canteen vouchers - confirm numbers with Jen then contact Lindsay.

Camera - get out of store.

T-shirt for them to wear - use one of mine or a coloured one from somewhere and tell Jenny that it's a warm studio so the kids don't boil.

Confirm how many pupils and staff.

The Day:

We arrived earlier to uni at 8:30 to set up the studio and print the images we had access to from the shoot last week. We met them downstairs and explained the days plan. We started in the studio and got them to each sit and take the photos of them holding the printed images of they took of their objects. I had bought my black t-shirt in which some used. We got those who bought their objects in this time to take those photos in the studio to the left of the setup to keep each final image looking the same. We headed to the printing room and printed the images they took of objects off. Mary-Anne and Lindsay both came to see everyone and we took a group photo. We headed back to the studio and got them to photograph the remaining final images, including those who couldn't make the trip. I handed out the food vouchers and we headed to the cafe in uni where everyone had a break upstairs in the apex. We let them see the darkroom and finishing room on our way back from the break. We printed off the remaining final images and the class watched. We interacted with them by asking them questions about which option they liked etc. I got each of them to share their explanations with me so I could print them out over easter without needing access to the google classroom. They chose the colour of white for the frames. All the kids had fun and the teachers and lecturers thought it a success. They left at 12 having arrived just after 9. We did first prints whilst they were here so they could see a result but later edited the photos better in Lightroom and reprinted them all. We don't have acces to the google classroom so I asked them to write down their pieces on text and photographed them so we can print the text and mount them at Uni. Emily will buy foam to mount the text onto and we will print these when we get access to the three that weren't there on the trip.
